I finally made it to Jeni's Ice Cream this past weekend. My whole quest started a few months ago while on an American Airlines flight. I was reading an article in the American Airlines magazine about the top five ice cream shops in the United States. As I was reading I was surprised to find out that one of the shops was right here in Columbus. I really love ice cream so I was dying to try it out. The article talked about all the exotic flavors, homemade caramels, and interesting ingredients. So this past weekend after dinner with my sister and her husband, we headed down to the North Market to try it out. Upon arriving we discovered it was already closed. We found out that there are now multiple locations and headed over to the one in Grandview.
When we first arrived we sampled lots of flavors: cucumber sorbet, black coffee, Thai, Grand cayenne, lavender vanilla, and more. I ended up settling on a fresh mint mojito sundae.

It was fresh mint ice cream topped with homemade rum caramel, pure sugar cane and whipped cream. Lots of calories but lots of fun. When you get a chance, check it out for yourself.
