On Tuesday evening we had an almost fatal camera tragedy. All the family went to Brooklyn's dance school for friends and family night. I took the business camera to shoot some images of her dancing. Sounded like a great idea! On the way home I set the camera on the seat in between the two kids. Dave ran into a store and I was on the phone when I heard Brooklyn say, "Mommy, I am fixing your camera." I dropped the phone, turned around and saw her jamming the card into the camera. I freaked and so did she and dropped the camera to the floor. The drop didn't do anything but the damage was done. She had bent one of the pins in the camera. I had a brief moment thinking about what we were going to do for all of our holiday shoots because most likely the camera would have to be shipped to Nikon for repair. On the way to bed that evening, Brooklyn said "Mommy, I was just trying to fix it. Next time I will fix my own camera." It was really sweet! The next day I took the camera to Cord Camera and Gary came to our rescue. He was able to fix it on the spot! God was definitely blessing us on that one! Lesson learned: Never leave you camera where small children can reach it!!!
