Today was one of those days where I put the work aside and spent time with my friend, Carla, and my sister Sara. We broke out the aprons and did some baking for Thanksgiving. We started this morning at 10:00am and I am still baking some cookies at 8:30pm. We started off this morning making pumpkin logs. They are awesome but quite involved. First you make the cakes and them roll them up and let them cool. Once they are totally cooled you unroll them and fill them with yummy cream cheese filling. That is the best part. I would double up on that part if I could. We made 9 pumpkin logs today.

After that we figured while we were at it, we would make chocolate whoopie pies. Now these are the best. We quadrupled the recipe and I will probably be baking them until 11:00 tonight. After they cool, we will fill them with a yummy filling too. We will freeze everything and then break it out on Thanksgiving. My next baking will come when I host the 2nd annual cookie exchange. I will tell you more about that later. For now, it's back to baking. Thanks Carla and Sara for making it a great day!

Karla ... it's great to know that you're still able to find the time for those extra "joys in life." Since I feel like I'm doing the whole "weekend warrior" thing on top of my regular job, I feel like I never have any time for anything! How long have you been doing this as a full-time thing??? Did you start out as a weekend warrior too?

Dave and I started shooting weddings 10 years ago. We were working full time jobs for 5 years and shooting on the weekends. We moved to Columbus 5 years ago. At that time we quit our full time jobs and went full time with the business and have been ever since. I have to say that it is a lot less stressful when you don't have to work all week and then shoot on the weekends!
