Happy Thanksgiving. My ham is baking and all the desserts are ready. I thought today that I would share my new look with all of you. Dave has been wanting me to go dark for awhile so I thought I would go out on a limb. It's fun for the winter!!!

Even though I love to bake, here is my secret for Thanksgiving. I always volunteer to do desserts. I then make my call into Der Dutchman and order homemade pies. I ordered mine today. I got a pecan, dutch apple, and black raspberry cream. If you want amazing pies at an affordable price, Der Dutchman is your place. They are still taking orders!! My in law's neighbor works over at the restaurant and they are expecting to sell 10,000 pies this year!!!!! Yes, that's right, 10,000!!!!!!!!! That is some serious pie making.

On another note, Dave has gone Christmas crazy and decided to decorate the outside of the house this year. He is doing full icicle lights, pathway lights, and lights all the way down the driveway. I use to have to beg him to put up lights, now he is voluteering. I will post a pix when the project is finished. Can you believe we are starting the Christmas season already?

The other day I received an email from a bride for 2007. She had recently come to see us and when she left she told me that she had one more appointment and that after that appointment she would let me know her decision. She ended up cancelling the appointment and booking us for her wedding. She forwarded to me an email that she had sent to the other photographer letting him know why she had booked us per this photographers request to know. Getting emails like this really makes us feel good about what we do! Thanks so much Jen! We are looking forward to working with you next summer.

Dear (other photographer's name omitted):

We went with Banks photography. My mom and I met with her, and my fiance still hasen't even met them. We really only went to compare to others. We originally thought they were too expensive! Karla sold us with her personality and her honesty. She was very upfront about why their prices were so high and proved to us the quality of their work. She showed us a video in their professional studio (Which felt like home too ) that blew us away! Loud surround sound, upbeat songs, and amazing candid shots of weddings!

Ultimately, the deciding factor for me was Karla herself. She was just so sweet, and someone who I could see as more of a friend than just a photographer. We asked her to be honest about other photographers and she was very complimentary about her competition and even recommended we meet with them to compare.

I realized that the people shooting the pictures were just as important as the pictures themselves. They would be taking very intimate pictures of the most important day of our lives! I want them to be able to relate to us, and understand our wants and needs. I also needed to feel comfortable with them and relaxed, in order to get the candid shots I want for our big day. To me, our photographs are THE MOST IMPORTANT part of our wedding! I hope we made the right decision! : )

I hope this helps! Good luck! I have heard great things about you, Banks just made such a great impression we decided to look no further.
