It has been awhile but we are now trying to get back into the swing of things. This past weekend we had two very fun weddings here in town.
On Saturday we shot the wedding of Molly and Evan. It felt like a family reunion to us because we know and have shot a bunch of their friends and have some others coming up this next year. We could not have asked for a better day. It felt like a spring wedding. 60 degrees in December? Unbelievable! The great thing is we were able to do all their pix outside downtown. We took Molly and Evan out before the wedding and then met up with their wedding party at the church. After the ceremony we headed out to do some night shots. We ended up at a fun mural downtown and used our car lights to add some extra light. We have been having a lot of fun with night shots lately. Finally we were on to the reception for a great party, entertainment provided by Conspiracy, my favorite band!! The reception looked amazing!
On Sunday we were back at it again with Ashlea and Mark. All week I was dreading Sunday because the weather report was not great. Temperature was fine but the rain was eminent. We met up with them at the Hilton and started prewedding photos. We started shooting outside the Hilton under the overhang and while we were doing that the sky just seemed to open up. We knew we had a window of opportunity so we loaded the limo and headed out for a photo shoot. Ashlea dress was amazing, thanks for Saks 5th Avenue. She had told me about it before that day and it was everything I expected and more. A few crazy things happened at this wedding: (1) Ashlea's hair appointments had been mysteriously cancelled and the salon had to scramble to get everything done (2) The guys flowers were the wrong flowers. The bride thought she had ordered red flowers and later we found out that they had the flowers from the other wedding at the Hilton. Oops! (3) Mark, the groom, was sick (4) The band ate all our food! We went into the vendor room at the Hilton to find that all the food was gone and we were left with nothing! Adam, the coordinator at the Hilton, came to our rescue and gave us a great meal! (5) Mark left the rings at the hotel. My mom, who was assisting us that day, ran two of the guys back to pick them up just in time for the ceremony. Other than all that, everything was beautiful. What a great couple and family to spend New Year's Eve with. Thanks for a great time!
