4th madness

Holiday weekends are always crazy for us and the 4th was nothing shy of crazy. On Thursday my sister, Roanna, and her family came into town. Brooklyn was very excited for her 4 cousins to come. All weekend they played and played and played. On Friday we hung around the house and that evening had a big cookout. What's the fourth without a cookout? From our house we were able to see Plain City and Dublin fireworks.

On Saturday we had a wedding to shoot and 2 photobooths. The wedding we shot was for Kiley and Chris. We were looking forward to shooting them because this would be our first time out at the Pinnacle club. That place is amazing. It might just be one of the prettiest ballrooms in town!
Here are some pix from their wedding. You can also check out their slideshow!

On Sunday we recuperated from Saturday and celebrated our 12th anniversary with our family. Can you believe it? 12 years! Yeah! We started off at the Ballantrae fountains with our kids. Then headed over to my sister Sara's house for dinner. Our anniversary dinner was none other than Pei Wei, my favorite. We also had an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.

On Monday we recuperated from Sunday and celebrated Dave's birthday! Yes, I did say it was a crazy weekend. My family left in the afternoon and that night we headed to J Alexanders for dinner with the family. I got Dave an 80g Ipod. He was in heaven! Happy Birthday Dave!

So finally, Tuesday we recuperated from the 4th, the weddings, the photobooths, the anniversary and the birthday! Whew! Now it's back to work!

Pray for your kids!

I know people say that you should be constantly praying for protection over your children and this past week we especially needed prayers. On Tuesday evening Isaac woke up from his nap. He was a little warm but I thought it was just because his room was a little warm. We gave him some juice and then were out to door on our way to Tina and Michael's house for dinner. Upon arriving, I thought he might still be a little warm so I gave him some Tylenol. Not even five minutes later, I looked at him and his eyes were rolling back a little. I tried calling his name and Tina says "Karla, something is wrong. Call 911!" Michael called 911 and Dave took Isaac and tried to calm him and keep him breathing. I remained as calm as I could and took Brooklyn into the other room so that she wouldn't see Isaac like that. Isaac was having a seizure. The paramedics came at the end of the 4 minutes seizure. They gave him some oxygen and then took him, along with Dave, down to Children's hospital. I tried to remain calm and prayed really hard for our little guy. Upon arriving, they had to give him medication to totally stop the seizure. The doctors checked him out and lucky everything was fine. The seizure was caused from a sudden spike in temperature. These kind of seizures are not epileptic and do not cause damage to the brain. I am thankful for God's protection over Isaac and for keeping us calm. It makes enjoy even more, every day that we have with our children. It was also a gentle reminder to continually pray God's protection over them!
