It's boot camp baby! This morning I was up at 5:15am to go for a boot camp "demo" at the gym. The class started at 6:00 and by 7:00 I was feeling totally sore but great! It brought back the old days at college of preseason basketball training. We were running suicides, doing plyometrics, and weight resistance exercises. It was jammed packed with exercise goodness. I felt so good while doing it. When I walked out the door I thought I might not make it to the car. After arriving home I sat down for 30 minutes to resist the urge to throw up. After my shower I thought that I might not be able to dry my hair because I could not hold my hands above my head. I have somewhat recuperated now but I am sure by morning I will experience it all again. I am not backing out now! The class starts in two weeks. It is a 12 week classes, 3 mornings a week at 6:00am. My goal is to lose my last 12 pounds. Wish me luck!

I finally made it to Jeni's Ice Cream this past weekend. My whole quest started a few months ago while on an American Airlines flight. I was reading an article in the American Airlines magazine about the top five ice cream shops in the United States. As I was reading I was surprised to find out that one of the shops was right here in Columbus. I really love ice cream so I was dying to try it out. The article talked about all the exotic flavors, homemade caramels, and interesting ingredients. So this past weekend after dinner with my sister and her husband, we headed down to the North Market to try it out. Upon arriving we discovered it was already closed. We found out that there are now multiple locations and headed over to the one in Grandview.

When we first arrived we sampled lots of flavors: cucumber sorbet, black coffee, Thai, Grand cayenne, lavender vanilla, and more. I ended up settling on a fresh mint mojito sundae.

It was fresh mint ice cream topped with homemade rum caramel, pure sugar cane and whipped cream. Lots of calories but lots of fun. When you get a chance, check it out for yourself.
