This past weekend Dave and I shot the amazing wedding of Julie and Vince. We had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time. We heard it was going to be beyond beautiful and it far exceeded our expectations! When we first heard they were having a tent reception in February in Ohio we were wondering how that would work, but it was awesome! The tent had clear sides so the guests could see the winter wonderland outside.
The girls from Devoted to Details did a fabulous job as usual with all the little details. Janna, from Janna Coe Designs did the floral designs and they were totally unreal. We see a lot of great flowers at weddings but these flowers were over the top. It was fit for a movie star!!!!

Now back to the couple. Julie and Vince were great sports about seeing each other prior to the wedding for photos. We started off with a photo shoot at Camelot Cellars in the Short North, then headed to the newly renovated lobby of The Renaissance Hotel, and finally held our breathe while we froze to death with some outdoor photos downtown. It was worth every frozen finger and toe! Amazing! Next we headed to the ceremony and finally to the tent at the Columbus Country Club. The party got rolling and never stopped. The entertainment was provided by my all time favorite band, Conspiracy. Rodney is such a riot! Here is Rodney getting down with Vince.

Kids. Kids and more kids. It seems like all our of clients are now having babies. So many people call and ask if we shoot babies and kids, and the answer is yes. We actually do free sessions for all of our past wedding clients! Here are some images of the cute kids we have been shooting!

Snow days, snow days. Brings back memories. I was raised in North Dakota where every day was a snow day, although we hardly missed school. It was so incredibly cold up there that we had to plug our cars in at night so that they would have a chance of starting in the morning. I remember sledding off our house because the snow drifts were so high. I once even climbed up a snow bank and onto the roof of the gymnasium at school. I think that was one of the only times I got in trouble and had to talk with the principal.

From ND we moved to northern Indiana where we were constantly bombarded by lake effect snow. School wasn't cancelled for a couple of inches because that was too common. The one snow that I really remember was my first semester of teaching. Before going full time into photography, I was a high school and junior high English teacher. (Please don't judge my grammar!) I was starting my first teaching job second semester which started right after Christmas. A huge storm moved in and I ended up missing my first 13 days of teaching!!! Yes, that's right, 13 days! We had over 72 inches of snow. They tried to plow but ran out of places to store the snow. It was amazing!!!!!! I just love the snow. I figure if it's going to be cold, bring on the snow. So that in my take on snow!!!! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
