Afraid of the Dark!

For along time we have been very apprehensive of night weddings and having the pressure to shoot without natural light. This past weekend Rachel and Brent were having a night wedding and did not want to see each other prior to the ceremony for photos. To be honest we were a little stressed out about the shoot. We just love natural light because that's what we really know. We wanted to grant our clients wishes not to see each other so we went along with the idea. We packed our bags and were sure to remember our little flash light (thanks to our friend and mentor, Kevin Harrington!). After the ceremony we started the shoot and I have to say, Dave and I rocked this shoot! No longer are we afraid of no natural light. We are actually anxious to do it again. Anyone up for a night shoot? Check out these pictures from Rachel and Brent's wedding!

Snow Days!

Did you love snow days growing up? I did! It was an excuse to do nothing! I grew up in North Dakota and the norther Indiana areas. Let's just say, both areas provided plenty of snow days. I can remember in North Dakota have 3 feet of snow at all times. I remember digging tunnels in the snow and being to walk around in them. I remember the temperatures being so cold that we had to plug our cars in so that they would start in the morning. Then in Indiana I remember all the lake effect snow. They wouldn't cancel school for an inch or two of snow because that would be almost every day. 6-12 inches of snow was very typical for us. Now that we live in Columbus, winters are very mild. I am always shocked when school is cancelled because to me it just doesn't seem that bad.

So anyways, today was one of those lazy snow days. I sat at home, played with the kids, did some phone calls and emails, did a little laundry, and that's about it. I was in my pj's all day!! I love it!

By the way, tomorrow we will be announcing the finalists for the free wedding giveaway and then on Thursday we will announce the winner. I wish we could shoot everyone who entered. We did learn one thing for our contest next year, run the giveaway in the fall when we have dates available. Unfortunately we had to eliminate well over half of the entries because of dates. We live and learn! Our 2009 giveaway will be announced this fall. Stay tuned!
