Baby Katie

On Wednesday I had the privilege to shoot baby Katie. We shot Katie's family this past fall at one of our family portrait sessions. Kelli had been referred to us by Andrea and Joe Simmons, who are previous wedding clients. Thanks Andrea for the referral!

When we shot their family this past fall, Kelli told me she was pregnant. A few months later she contacted me about shooting their baby when she was born this February. We are going to be shooting baby Katie for this whole year: 1 week, 3 months, 6months, 9months, and 1 year! I love shooting babies as they grow up. The progression is so amazing! Here are some cute images from Katie's 1 week shoot.

Ups and downs

About a week ago, I had a nightmare about our wedding this weekend. I tend to do that when we don't shoot for a couple of weeks. I dream that we forget to show up at a wedding or that we forget our cameras. I wake up in a sweat and try not to go back to sleep but I don't even want to think about it!

All was going well this week and then Friday comes. Our friends Galen and Suekane came over for dinner and while they were there, Brooklyn started throwing up. Not just once, not jut twice, three times! I thought it would probably be best if they would leave because I didn't want their baby to get sick. Just as they left, all hell broke loose!! Dave was washing his hands in the bathroom and heard a strange sound from the basement. He ran downstairs in a panic and found that our septic pipe in the basement had broke and sewage was coming into the basement! He contained it quickly and I started calling emergency plumbers to come out. So here I am one the phone, Isaac is crying because Dave won't let him downstairs, Brooklyn is throwing up, and I have a huge headache! Dave's dad came over and helped save us. He took Isaac off our hands and I also left to put Brooklyn to sleep at Yaya and Papa's house.

We found out that our septic tank was full and that the pipe had been clogged with wipes! We had a huge talk with the kids about putting wipes down the toilet. That is a no, no! Just an FYI, Charmin is also very bad for a septic tank. The plumber did get the problem contained and they are coming back today to finish up the project.

So in addition to Brooklyn getting sick and the septic pipe breaking, Isaac got sick on Saturday, I got sick on Sunday and Dave isn't feeling well today. Isn't that lovely.

The best thing about the weekend was the wedding. We had an awesome time! Natalie and Dean were amazing. I will post more about the wedding soon!
